We lose magnesium very easily when we’re stressed out. So, it’s really important that you’re getting enough magnesium. A great way is just making sure that your relaxation involves some Epsom salt bath – not only is it a good solution to boost your magnesium, it’s also a really great way to relax.
Hot tip: soak your feet for 30 minutes w/some epsom salt in the evening and pretend you’re at your own luxuy spa!
Sodium is extremely important for your adrenal glands. But when it comes to sodium, you want to make sure that you have the right quality (this is important, take note!). Table salt won’t cut it – it is completely processed. Instead, you want to switch your sodium intake to Celtic sea salt – a salt that has the most quantities of minerals. So, you’re not only getting the sodium you need, you’re also getting a lot more minerals.
Coffee. We all love it. But every time we have coffee, we spike our cortisol which is our stress hormone. And then our adrenaline increases to bring it back down to homeostasis. To regain balance, minimize caffeine. Remember, every single sip increases your stress hormones.
Potassium is the mineral that’s first depleted when we’re stressed, which means that it’s the hardest mineral for us to replenish because we’re constantly stressed. So, always include potassium in your day-to-day – be that in the form of a banana, coconut water, or a smoothie.
As entrepreneurs (and moms, corporate ladder climbers, wives, etc) burnout is near impossible to avoid, but making some of these small tweaks can really help improve your energy! Make sure to incorporate these minerals in your day-to-day to regain balance.
