What do you really want to achieve? Do you want to earn more? Do you want to change lives? In the business world, you don’t want to go in like a headless chicken. If you want to boost your sales this year, you need to really identify and focus on your core desires. But, how?
Get your journal and focus on your feelings. What do you want to feel this year? What do you want to accomplish? Knowing your goals will serve as your true north and will guide you through your decision-making process.
Setting goals keeps you motivated, it gives you something to focus on, and it helps you measure your business’ success.
No matter how much you love your business, there are times when you just don’t want to go to work. Or maybe you feel like being lazy for a day or two. Part of the importance of goal setting is that it helps you stay motivated. By setting goals, you can also prioritize tasks and decide which projects to focus on first.
Also, if you plan your goals the right way, it will help you measure your business’ success in ways that you never could if you hadn’t set any goals. The SMART way to setting goals is as follows: specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely.
The importance of setting high-level goals is something that I can’t stress enough. Goals are what keeps you happy, motivated, and ready to come to work each day. If you set your goals in the right way, there’s no question that it will help increase the productivity and success of your business.
You can use any project management software, like Trello or Asana, as your system. I also highly recommend ClickUp + Airtable as your PM if you don’t have one yet. Your team might not be big right now, but you have to think like a leader who will scale up in the future.
You want to bring a team together and share your goals with them. You can also track their progress in one place.
Visualize your goals. Write them on sticky notes in your office to fuel your drive. Visualizing is a powerful tool. Don’t just look at your goals. Feel and embody them.
I know you might have heard the opposite but hear me out. There will always be naysayers in your life. When you tell them your big scary dreams that seem impossible, they will agree with you. What happens next? You will lose track and shrink. You will believe that it is impossible.
Surround yourself with like-minded people, the ones who share and manifest the same dreams that you have. Goal transparency and accountability are the absolute keys.
I wholeheartedly believe that great wealth can change the world, can change your life, and can change your family’s life. But, just at least in my experience, just focusing on the money itself, it’s never about the money. It’s truly not about the money, it’s always about the impact.
Say, if you want to earn $500,000 a year, I want you to break that down. Instead of focusing on the money itself, think about how many lives that’s going to change. For example, for $500,000 a year, you can help 150 people.
The shift from focusing on just money to thinking about how many lives it will change can shift your perspective in terms of your tenacity, your goals, how you talk about it, and how you show up.
Break the year down into big but achievable goals that allow you to focus on the main thing. Lead with the feelings that make you feel good. Guard your dreams and only share them with people who have the same values as you.
What strategies are you currently using to boost your sales? Which do you think could be improved upon? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
